Sauce and Bread Kitchen
Anne Kostroski (The Bread) kneaded her first loaves of bread 23 years ago at the original Breadsmith in Milwaukee Wi. Since then her passion for pastry and bread has taken her from coast to coast: with Michel Richard at Citronelle in D.C., Wine Spectator Restaurant along with Tra Vigne in St. Helena, CA and L'Etoile in Madison Wi. She trained at the Culinary Institute of America- Greystone on scholarship from Woman Chefs & Restaurateurs. Anne was cited by Beard Award Winning Chef Lisa Donovan in her book "Our Lady of Perpetual Hunger" as a major inspiration when she worked for Anne at Margot in Nashville. Anne was the Co-creator of City House and after getting it up and running she returned to her midwest roots. Anne finally opened her own shop Crumb Chicago 2009 and Sauce and Bread Kitchen in 2013.
Mike Bancroft (The Sauce) is a burgeoning outsider artist and self trained cook/social entrepreneur that aims to build community through art and food. A long time Chicago neardoweller and recovering notforprofiteer he takes on more than he can chew that leads to some pretty bad ass collaboration and some good times. You know what they say never trust a skinny chef (Mike is neither a Chef nor is he Skinny).
